American and Alaska Native faculty and staff in leadership roles of STEM
projects at their home institutions. Participants in the three-part Leadership
Institute will come from Native American and Alaska Native-serving institutions
that have multi-year projects supported through NSF/TCUP. Two-person teams
from 12 TCUP institutions will be identified as Cohort II participants in
the Institute.
SCHEDULE: The Institute will take place in three sessions between August 2008
and August 2009: a five-day workshop (Monday-Friday, August 4-8, 2008);
a two-day workshop (Friday-Saturday, February 6-7, 2009); and a five-day
workshop (Monday-Friday, August 3-7, 2009). Applicants must be fully committed

use during the Institute year; and offer a $2,400 fellowship, payable in
three installments ($1,000; $400; and $1,000), upon successful completion
of each session of the three-part Institute. Receipt of the final fellowship
installment is contingent upon having completed or developed a viable proposal
seeking funding for an on-campus STEM project that the participant will lead.

computers issued to them.

an on-going support system will exist for Cohort II members that will include
