Workshop at the Albuquerque Hilton Hotel in Albuquerque, NM, March 31-April 1, 2006

The workshop is designed to assist eligible Biology faculty members at accredited minority institutions and eligible underrepresented minority Biology faculty at other accredited institutions in the preparation of proposals for submission to the National Science Foundation’s Directorate for the Biological Sciences (BIO). To be eligible for QEM support to participate in a QEM/BIO workshop, a faculty member must meet each of the following criteria: (1) hold the rank of assistant professor or above; (2) be tenured or on in a tenure-track position; (3) teach Biology courses taken by students majoring in Biology/Biological Sciences; and (4) be actively engaged in research.
Each selected participant, prior to the workshop, must:
(1) submit a project summary, of no more than one page in length, that has been prepared in accordance with the
NSF Grant Proposal Guide (http://www.nsf.gov/publications/pub_summ.jsp?ods_key=gpg) (see page 21 of the Guide); and (2) submit a two-page biographical sketch that has been prepared in accordance with the Guide (see pages 23-24 for details). These documents should be sent electronically to smmcbay1@qem.org and must be received no later than Friday, March 3, 2006.
